Behind the Brand: Forged (part 2)




The tagline
Every legendary brand has a legendary tagline.
My formula is:
- Under 5 words (ex: Nike's Just Do It, Apple's Think Different, etc.)
- Aspirational
- Layers - has multiple meanings (like the occasional well-crafted country song lyric)
- Alliteration & rhyme - again, could be my music influence but repetition and rhymes get remembered
This is one of my favorite skills that I've honed into a superpower. Everything I see - billboards, print headlines, T-shirts, anything - I distill into a legendary tagline. There's a few I run across that I can't imagine anyone could improve. Levels to the game - always learning.
Another way I hone the craft is studying past heroes and legends - of everything. This is actually why I named my company Legend Media - there's so much gold hiding in history. If we study past legends we can learn without (some of) the scars.
Plus I am fascinated with origin stories - my own and the legends I learn from. KNOW YOURSELF. The more you know, the more you understand.

I've realized for me, heart-first is everything. Personally, embracing emotions used to be my kryptonite until the pain of life helped me reforge myself. Weakness either kills you or becomes your superpower.
That is what Forged means to me. That's why it exists.
