Behind the brand
This is the origin story of the brand Forged.
TLDR: Almost dying taught me how to truly live.
Let me explain...
April 21, 2021.
Best day ever then bleeding out.
Almost died then learned to walk again.
Almost gave up then racing again.




Tomorrow isn't guaranteed – forge life today.
The logo


After doing this for so long, I've come to realize I'm a very visually-inspired creator. The logo is usually my first step in exploring what the brand is all about (stuffy academic types call it brand identity). I'll mock up about 5-25 concepts, sleep on it, come back the next day and one will speak the brand's story to me – that's the one.
I don't stress or force it – good enough is good enough for right now. Many times I get further into developing the brand and it all suddenly becomes clear. Switch up the font and boom! there it is. Sometimes this refinement takes seconds, sometimes weeks.
Just keep going.
The logo mark


The logo mark is a fancy word for the little graphic that you pretty much always see to the left of the brand name.
Let me rewind. See, a brand is really an identity.
For ranchers and cattle men, the brand was literally stamped into the side of the animals with a flaming hot metal branding iron. And John Wick.
